Boland delivered 135 L.L. Bean backpacks to Don Bosco Cristo Rey High School’s incoming freshman class on Thursday, 8/16.
The students celebrated completion of their Summer Bridge Program; it is a three-week training program to prepare them for life, school, and job assignments. Lucille Fusciello, Karen Walker, Sarah Heitkemper, and Lou Boland joined them to surprise the students with their new backpacks. The backpacks were embroidered with the school logo in their school colors – black and gold. The students were happy to receive the backpacks as a warm welcome to the start to a new school year.
